• With Jim Dawson • The Glasnost Mondial Supergroup 1990 Interior Motives

Here's an ultra-rarity—"Lights In Arizona," and yours truly with the fantastically talented Jim Dawson and his musical compatriot Seth David Walter on August 29, 1993 at one of Harry Pearson's friendship parties. Harry, founder of The Absolute Sound, has held these parties in celebration of life, music and friends getting together. It was a thrill and honor to play with Dawson, a man I consider one of the greatest singer-songwriters to grace the planet. (The recording quality is a little rough, but it was a once in a lifetime moment.)

The Glasnost Mondial Supergroup/1990 Aragon Jam Sessions Concert and CD

In 1990, Anthony Federici and Paul Rosenberg of Mondial Designs decided it would be a great idea to host an industry jam session at the 1990 CES—an idea that was unprecedented at the time. The concert was called "Glasnost" because it was an opportunity for different "factions" of the audio industry—reviewers, manufacturers, reps, competing magazines and others—to put aside their agendas, whether real or imagined, and get together and enjoy making and listening to music. The band had four hours of rehearsal, having never played together before, and did the show that night.

The concert was recorded live by Bainbridge Records, with a direct feed to the COLOSSUS™ digital audio system from a single MS-4 surround 4-channel microphone at Moscow At Night in Chicago, IL on June 3rd and 4th, 1990. It was released as The Glasnost Mondial Supergroup/1990 Aragon Jam Sessions.

Interior Motives

In 1984, myself, Howie Lieberman, Bob Reina and I decided to do a project based around the voice of Nora Perrin, then one of Howie's co-workers. One of the songs we recorded, "Dance With The One You Love," isn't going to win any prizes for profundity, but it seemed like a fun song to do at the time. Basic tracks were recorded by the group (keyboards, guitar, drums, bass and drum machine and vocals) and then remixed by Martin Bisi at B.C. Studios in Brooklyn, NY. Other songs were recorded and remixed at the session also and perhaps I'll post them here someday.
