On April 28, 2004, Gary Wilson performed at the Knitting Factory in New York City. This is the actual mannequin that he used in that performance. It was strapped onto his back, and remnants of the duct tape are still on it, as you can see.

After the show, no one in the band had any means of transporting the mannequin out of the club. I was talking to Gary and said, "You can't just leave the dummy in the dressing room! It would be a waste!" So, Gary suggested I take it home with me, and I agreed, as I didn't want to just see it thrown away. So, into a plastic garbage bag it went, and I schlepped it from the Knitting Factory to Penn Station, onto a Long Island Railroad train and into my house, where it now resides.
