Ewww, gross! Well, s...tuff like this doesn't happen every day, so this rare occurrence just had to be documented.

On December 15, 2004, I had to park at the Huntington train station. I thought I was lucky to find a spot right by the station, much closer than where I would usually park. Well, imagine my surprise when, after the return trip, I got off the train and saw this! As it was a cold winter's night, the birds' effluvia were literally frozen to the car and I could barely get enough off the windshield to see out of it and drive home. The next morning I drove to the car wash, where it took a lot of hot water and the workers' elbow grease to get it all off. The woman working at the car wash knew immediately what had happened—it seems that anyone who parks in that particular spot gets treated to the birds' aerial bombardment, and never parks there again. No wonder the spot was open! I gave the workers the biggest tip I have ever given at a car wash.
